How Jesus responded to TRAGEDY.

How Christ responded to TRAGEDY.

 Luke 13:1-5

* Christ’s response implied; Terrorism, calamities, natural disasters and all like such do not come down on people because they’re the worst sinners. Luke 13 Verses 2-5

-Some people think God only brings these tragedies on people because they deserved it for their wickedness, well if that’s the case the whole world should be under a tragic circumstance because the whole world is guilty before God. (Romans 3:10-19)

But let us make no mistake about tragedies, tragedies are derived from the judgements of God. Some tragedies are directly and some are indirectly from God. Many horrific tragedies happen because of God’s judgement on sin and the sinner which is a blanket judgment on all. The general judgement is God allowing chaos and suffering and death to come into the world through Adam’s sin who represented us all. And we all have sinned as well, and what our sin has done is cause chaos in our hearts unto wickedness sometimes resulting in terrorism and sin has also caused chaos in the natural atmosphere leading to natural disaster. And all of this is the righteous judgement of God on this world sometimes on the godly and ungodly at the same time.

Here's a few examples

  • In the nation of Israel because of sin the righteous ones and the unrighteous ones were both taken captive by a foreign nation and/or suffered many curses collectively.
  • Ecclesiastes 8:14  There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless.
  • The story of Job

Verse 3. Unless you repent, you will likewise perish

The difference in how the un-repented and repented die is alike and different at the same time. The likeness is that the righteous and the unrighteous are subject to terrorism, natural disasters, calamities, death and suffering and like such.

-But the difference is the ungodly are overtaken suddenly by death while in their sins thus they die suddenly and perish because they were not looking for Christ to come again and they cared little or nothing about His things anyway.
-But the godly ones live by faith in Christ and await and love His return for them, so the difference is the saints always die ready in right standing with God no matter what fatal tragedy comes upon them.
The main idea of Luke 13:3     The main idea is this change your mindset, turn away from your sin, believe on Christ Jesus or you too could die suddenly in your sin and end up in Hell.
